In the noise of the world, pantomime chooses silence. It is an art of illusion, where the body becomes the primary instrument of storytelling.
Physical theatre, at its core, is the exploration of the limits of body expression. Pantomime, one of its purest forms, eliminates the word, forcing both the artist and the spectator to focus exclusively on movement, gesture, and intention.
Fundamental Principles
- Isolation: The ability to move one single part of the body while the rest remains perfectly controlled.
- Object Illusion: The convincing creation of the presence of a non-existent object through muscular precision and concentration.
- Emotional Counterpoint: Conveying a complex emotion through simple posture or the direction of a gaze.
Our studio organizes workshops dedicated to these principles. Practical sessions focus on classical mime exercises, but also on adapting body language for contemporary theatre.
"The stage is an empty space. The artist's body is the only instrument that fills it with meaning. There is no need for a set, there is a need for presence."
